Lainy Reicher currently resides in Woodstock, NY. She was born in New York City, where, from her teen years on, she became interested in various forms of holistic healing of the
body, mind, and spirit. She had a natural curiosity about the body's healing processes. For the past thirty years, this curiosity has served her as she searched out diverse modalities of healing that she could use
in helping others to heal themselves.
In 1973, Lainy traveled to Mexico to learn the ancient healing methods of the Mayan Indians. She spent three years in the field, identifying, gathering, and learning the proper use of
indigenous medicinal plants. Lainy practiced amongst the Native Peoples, traveling from village to village, becoming known as a "barefoot doctor."
Several years later, Lainy attended the Taos School of Natural Healing in New Mexico where she developed a working knowledge of herbology, and reflexology. She studied with the
"father of herbology," Dr. John Christopher, who is well known for his popular line of herbal formulas. Lainy also studied anatomy, physiology, and nutrition. She learned to identify weaknesses in the body's organs and energy
systems, and how to successfully support patients through their "healing crisis."
Between 1976 and 1980 Lainy taught herbology at the Integral Yoga Institute in New York, and completed her masters degree at the Emerson College of Herbology. She also became a
Naturopath, completing her courses at the Brentridge Forest School, Sussex, England. Her studies encompassed the preparation of homeopathic extracts, diet, nutrition, and client analysis. Lainy also did two months of
clinical work. Shortly after that internship, she studied Iridology with the field's leading expert, Dr. Bernard Jensen, in Escondido, California.
Using her knowledge and experience in wild-crafting, Lainy assembled and marketed an innovative "Herbal First Aid Kit." She also created the "High Falls Food Co-Op Cook Book of Vegetarian
Cuisine". In 1986 she opened and operated "Healing Pleasures," offering clients, unique relaxation and stress reduction practices. Lainy also studied and practiced, Kabalistic healing, non- surgical face lifts, and stress
management.
Lainy opened her holistic practice in the Hudson Valley in 1992. Since then, she has worked with clients giving them renewed hope. Lainy's healing practice has attracted clients from
around the country and around the world.
In 1993 Lainy graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1998 she became a Clinical Nutritionist and in 1999 she became a Certified Dietary Nutritionist.
Lainy's reputation speaks of a practitioner who offers help to those who have relentlessly attempted to heal through various traditional, and even holistic modalities without success. Her
vision consists of empowering her clients to take responsibility for their own healing, and she asks only that her clients understand the importance of this responsibility in the healing process. Only by taking responsibility
for themselves can they benefit from the natural innate healing ability of the body.
A loose-leaf notebook sits in the waiting room of Lainy's office containing hundred's of letters from her clients, thanking Lainy for the help she has given them in their journey to
healing.
